Quaker Oats Biscuits Submitted by: Rick | Date Added: 9 Sep 2023
Ingredients
12oz Quaker Oats
8oz SR flour
8oz sugar
8oz marg (I think stork is best for baking) or butter your choice
2 large tbsp golden syrup
2tsp bicarb dissolved in 2tbsp boiling water
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 170°c.... beat Marg (Butter) and sugar until creamy and then add all the other ingredients.
Take golf ball size balls and press into biscuit shapes (or roll out and use a biscuit cutter) then place on a greased tin. Ensure they are evenly spaced as they will rise and puff out slightly. Cook for 10-12mins or until golden brown and cracked. You may have to turn the trays once to ensure even cooking. Remove from oven. Cool a little and turn out onto wire cooling rack. If you prefer really crunchy biscuits, turn off the oven and leave biscuits in until cooled.
